BSU v. BC

v.

On Wednesday, Robert and I got to go to the MPC Computers Bowl, where Boise State was playing Boston College. Boise hadn't lost a game on their home field for 31 games, since 2001! And Boston College hadn't lost a bowl game since 1999, so it was a good game! We got rain, lightning, thunder and hail, but we stuck it out to watch the whole thing. The link below will take you to the espn.com article and there is a video clip of the highlights... Really good game (at least in the second half) and we almost pulled it off... SO close! It was a lot of fun, though, and we owe a big thanks to my boss, who gave us the tickets as a Christmas gift when I couldn't find them anywhere else! :)

MPC Bowl

Christmas

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We spent Christmas Eve with Robert's family in Twin Falls, which was, as always, a lot of fun! I wish we'd been able to spend more time there, but we had to go to the rental house and check on a couple of things (pray that we are able to sell it SOON!) and then we had to get home to Bailey. We spent Christmas morning at home, just the three of us. It was really nice. Then we went to church, and spent the afternoon and evening at my parent's house. All of our family on my mom's side was able to be there... all 27 of us! It was so much fun, and my grandpa did a devotion and prayer time that was really cool... hopefully it will become a tradition. :) Well, here are a couple pictures... one of the whole family and one of baby Elyssa in her Christmas dress. So cute!

O Christmas Tree...

We finally got our tree this weekend! It is so pretty (at least I think so!) We decorated it last night while we listened to Christmas music. Then we watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the Dr. Suess cartoon version) and ate peppermint ice cream and drank egg nog. Mmmmmm. We finally got some Christmas shopping done also! Yay! We are really enjoying our first Christmas together as a married couple, especially in our new house! :) The pics below are specifically for Khrista, who asked to see more of the house... so, here are the dining room and the office, which is still being organized. :)

Bowling for Jonas' Birthday

Jonas turns four on Tuesday! This weekend he had his party at the bowling alley. It was fun, but a little crazy. Imagine 12 or so preschoolers, 4 babies and about 24 adults. Plus there was another birthday party right next to us! The kids had a blast though, especially Jonas. He and his friends were so cute! They would get so excited if they knocked over any pins... they would jump up and down and give each other high fives... so cute! My sister always goes all out for their birthdays, so all of the kids even got little trophies with their names on them. :)

Time for Christmas Shopping

This weekend we will be finally getting around to Christmas shopping. I am such a procrastinator when it comes to that! We are also going to get a tree, which I am very excited about! :) Not much else going on here... it is still really cold (20 degrees at the moment, feels like 14). It is supposed to warm all the way up to a high of 32 by Sunday. We got an offer on our rental house, so if all goes well we will close before the end of the year... YAY! We are also going to sell Robert's car today... someone who has been interested just called and wants to buy it tonight. Another YAY! Both of those things are a huge answer to prayer!! I leave you with some pictures of this morning's sunrise, taken as I was driving in traffic. I know, I know. Sorry they aren't great, but I really do have limits as to how many things I can do at once! :) But I thought the sunrise reflected on the building was pretty cool, so I couldn't resist.

Baby It's Cold Outside

This is what the weather is right now in Boise...

Partly Cloudy 9°F
Feels Like 0°F

and it is 9:37 a.m.!!! The high today is 22. Last night it was below zero with the wind chill. BELOW ZERO! That is crazy!

Well, I haven't taken any good pictures lately, so I will just put some on here of the house. We don't have a tree yet, but we are planning to get one this weekend. We have done a little decorating for Christmas though. The pictures are of the living room (obviously) and the green room is the guest room/Bailey's room. The other picture I took while I was driving to work today (which helps explain the poor quality). It's the view of downtown Boise I get every morning... but it's definitely not as good as the real thing! The mountains are covered with snow and the sunrise is beautiful! :) Have a great day! I am going to try to stay warm!

Wedding Pictures Are Here!

We got the CD from our photographer last night! I didn't think it would be a good idea to post all 186 pics on the blog, so you should receive an email with a link. I could not get the link to work on this site, unfortunately, because of the way the photo site works. But check them out and then leave me a comment... I'd love to know what you think!

Snow Day! Yay!

After our horrible attempt at making it to work, we ended up having most of the day free! So we did a little Christmas shopping, during which we picked up the antlers for Bailey (they light up and play Jingle Bells too) and then went home. We played in the snow, and made a snow family (Aren't they cute! My favorite was the dog) which melted a few hours later. But it was fun! Then we had some soup and watched Christmas movies. We watched Home Alone, and we didn't make it through National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2. Blockbuster didn't have the first one. NLCV2 is quite possibly the stupidest movie ever made. It was not at all funny... the acting was awful, the lines were ridiculous and there was no plot. STUPID movie! We did a little housecleaning also. It was a nice, relaxing day... except for the driving part in the morning. :)

The Morning Commute

Because of the snow Monday morning, traffic was absolutely ridiculous! There is no other word for it. There was ice everywhere, too. It took us an hour and a half to go about 4 1/2 miles from our house to the interstate on ramp. At that point, we had both heard from our jobs not to come in, so we turned around and went home. We saw about 5 cars and a school bus off the road on the way home! Here is Robert's road rage face. :) He actually rolled down his window and threw a snowball at a Coca-Cola truck at one point (it was deserved). We did notice some interesting things while sitting in the car though. The big Christmas tree and the building are in downtown Nampa. The wall with the horses is too, and I thought it looked pretty with the snow on their backs. My favorite though is the store. It is called Alpha Omega Services, and their windows advertise "Free Bibles" and "Firearms". HUH?! The sign also says "Gun Supplies" and "Christian Products". Only in Idaho!

Let it SNOW!!

We got our first "real" snow Thursday morning. It was so pretty! Bailey really loves the snow.

for My strength is made perfect in weakness.
