Something to Think On

I was reading this morning in Our Daily Bread and the entry really struck me. I thought I would share it. Have a great day!!

Reading: Hebrew 4:14-16

One morning, Scott Long and his wife had just awakened and were lying in bed when suddenly a young fellow entered their bedroom. He walked around the bed to Scott's side.

If the trespasser had been a total stranger, his entrance would've been criminal intrusion. If he had been a friend, his entrance would've been just plain obnoxious. But it was their toddler son who had entered their bedroom, jumped on the bed, and boldly said, "I want in the middle." Scott was struck with the beauty of a child's security in knowing he is wanted.

We are welcome in our heavenly Father's presence as well. Hebrews 4:16 tells us we can "come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." We can approach Him confidently about anything—our needs and our desires—knowing that He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

Writer Phillips Brooks said, "If man is man and God is God, to live without prayer is not merely an awful thing; it is an infinitely foolish thing."

Let's not be foolish and ignore the help we can find in prayer to our Father. Instead, let's approach Him with the boldness of a child who knows he is loved and wanted by his father. —Anne Cetas

When we approach the Lord in prayer,We can come boldly to His throne; His children come expectantly,For grace and mercy will be shown. —Sper

Pray as a child talks to his father.

Recovering

Well, we are slowly recovering from our accident on March 8. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. The amount of help we have received from our friends and family has overwhelmed us and we are so thankful!! Everything looks like it is working out with the insurance. It is a huge pain, but they are paying, so I shouldn't complain too much. More good news... we sold the rental house last week! The timing is perfect, and the little we made on it will help a lot for the next couple of months.

Ashlie and Danny are getting married on Saturday! I can hardly believe it. I am looking forward to the wedding, of course, and everyone is excited and busy.

Here are a couple of pictures. Elyssa was watching her brothers and Bailey through the back door, and she got upset at Bailey when he jumped up on the door. And she really didn't want to take a picture with him. She is getting so big! The other pictures are of Garrett's baseball game last night. He catches, and he's really good. I didn't get to watch the whole game, but both times I saw him at bat, he got a hit. :)

Random Photos

Things are going well here. 24 more days in the wedding countdown! The bridal shower is Sunday, and I am really excited about it. We have some really fun games and great prizes! We still haven't heard anything about the house, so hopefully we are still on schedule to close on it on the 15th. Robert has started studying for his tests... he starts with insurance. It is SO confusing!

We only have 2 more weeks of our Bible class left. We have been taking a class on Galatians every Tuesday night at a church in Boise. It has been really interesting, especially since we have been studying James in our small group. It is a great contrast to be studying Galatians (salvation by FAITH) and James (living your salvation through WORKS). Lots of good stuff! Small group is tonight, and we have really been having a great time the last few weeks! We've had several new people come too, which is awesome! We challenged ourselves to grow a few weeks ago, and our group has really stepped up and invited a bunch of new people. I really love our small group. It is so encouraging to be able to study with others. And we have a GREAT time. I probably laugh more on Wednesdays than any other time during the week. :) Maybe I will take some pictures tonight and post them later.

I finally recovered the CD that had all of the pictures from our wedding slideshow on it! Yay! It was lost, but my aunt found it at her house (she's the one who put the slideshow together for us). So I thought I would share a few of my favorites. There were over 240 pictures in the slideshow, so you may see more later! :) But this is just a sample. The quality is pretty poor on some of them... they were old anyway, and then they were scanned... Sorry this post is sooooooooooo long... I didn't intend it to be, but I guess when I go so long between posts, I have more to say. :)
