Mondays

I love Mondays! Really, I think Mondays are my favorite day. I like Saturday and Sunday too, but Mondays I am off work, and we usually don't have any other plans! We have something going on almost every night of the week, and of course work during the day, and our weekends are always busy. Monday is my day to get things done! Cleaning house, laundry,
grocery shopping... I usually plan out the week's meals on Monday, and I almost always bake something. Today I made chocolate chip cookies from a recipe I got from my friend Khrista... mmmmmmmm.
We try to take some of whatever it is I make to a neighbor we haven't met yet... I guess that is one thing we do on Monday nights, but it doesn't take long. Now that the weather is nicer, I will probably use some of my time on Mondays to work in the garden, take Bailey for a walk, or lay in my hammock! :)
I have a few plants, and lots of seeds, and I'm anxious to get started on the garden, but we have to wait a few more weeks... you never know what the weather will do here. I did start my herbs indoors... parsley, chives, basil and cilantro.
I did that last Monday! :) If I have time after all my household stuff is done, sometimes I read, work on making cards or scrapbooking, update my blog :) , or (rarely) even take a nap.
Have a great week!

Scavenger Hunt

Earlier this month, we had a small group leader scavenger hunt for church. It was a lot of fun... it's been a long time since I was in a scavenger hunt! We had to find some items, and take pictures of us doing other things. Jana, Robert & I almost won.... we were sooooooooo close, but another team got it on a technicality. :oP It was fun anyway, and we did win the prize for finding the strangest sign! Here are a few pictures...

One Year Ago...

On March 8, 2006 we were in a pretty bad car accident. We spent 5 days in the hospital and weeks recovering. Robert doesn't remember anything, but I still have flashbacks. :o( While it definitely wasn't fun, we have seen God use it for good in our lives, and we're thankful to be here! We have awesome friends and family who helped us in so many ways, from giving us a bigger and better mattress, to driving us places, to bringing us meals, to staying with us for days at a time, and of course, praying for us. Here are some pictures of the car after the accident...

My grace is sufficient for you,
for My strength is made perfect in weakness.
