God & Country Rally

Nampa has a God & Country rally every year before the 4th. This year they had Point of Grace and a few local bands. It was the first year we went, and it was pretty fun! A lot of people! It got really windy for a while, but calmed down in time for the fireworks show, which was really good! The only bad part was the traffic getting out of there!... It took us an hour to get home, when it normally takes about 5 minutes from there!

Poor Sick Baby

Isaak has had a rough couple of weeks. First he had croup (trip to the emergency room), then an ear infection. Then he & Jonas got hand, foot & mouth disease (blisters on those parts, very contagious!). Then the poor kid had an allergic reaction to amoxicillin (2 trips to the emergency room). He is pretty miserable, poor baby! His little hands and feet are really swollen, but his face looks much better now than in these pictures!

Happy Birthday Elyssa!

Elyssa turned 1 yesterday! Unfortunately, her brothers are sick so they couldn't do anything fun. Luckily she doesn't know! :) She enjoyed her birthday Oreo and spaghetti! We'll have her party on July 9th instead of this weekend.

Greenbelt

The Nampa greenbelt (trail that runs along the canal for those of you not from here!) is right down the street from our neighborhood, which is really nice! Here are some pics from our walk with Matt, Hannah, Cambree & Archie the other day. There are a bunch of ducks around, even a few baby ones still, so we took some bread with us. I did not know ducks swim that fast!!

New Camera

I ordered a new camera today! I am so excited!! It should be here in about a week. I got a Nikon D50 (digital SLR) and I can't wait to try it out!

Bath Time!

Bailey got a much needed bath on Sunday. He hates (despises with everything in him) water, so bathing him is always interesting! He was pretty good for the bath, but was a pain when I tried to brush him after. :oP He looks so different (skinny!) when he's wet!

Road Trip!

Last weekend we went on a road trip to Moscow. Robert was working up there for a couple days, so I took time off and went with him. We took the long way up and the short way back. It doesn't look like that much longer, but the road there winds through the mountains a lot (through a national forest, into Oregon and Washington), and we stopped a lot so I could get pictures. It was a great drive, and it was nice to spend the time together! We also took a "detour" inadvertantly and drove up the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway. It's a really pretty drive, but we didn't realize that it ends at the dam, so then we had to turn around and go back. We did see a bald eagle flying through the canyon though, so it was worth it! Every time a take a trip here, I remember why I love the west so much!! On our way up, we passed through a little town just outside the Wallawa National Forest called Joseph. It is now on my top ten list of places to retire. :) Here are a few pictures from the trip.

The 2 pictures above are of Joseph

We also saw a couple of hawks and several deer

Lesson learned: Don't leave your sandwich unattended!

More Pictures

Here are a few more pictures from this weekend...
Sunset in Moscow, the view from just behind our hotel
We passed 3 or 4 of these signs on our way home, just outside of Riggins. Weird. I can't figure out what that group is.

Lunch with Nicole

Today Nicole & I went to lunch together. :) I don't get to do that very often, since she is a crazy busy college girl, and it was fun. And yummy.... we had fries and corndogs from Pronto Pups and smoothies from Jamba Juice. And fry sauce. I think that is a western thing... it is ketchup, mayo and sugar, and it is soooo much better than just plain ketchup on fries! Mmmmmm...

Wedding

We had a really busy weekend, with a lot of traveling. We spent Saturday in Twin Falls for a wedding, and then drove to Moscow Sunday and came back Tuesday (more on that later!).
Here are a couple of pictures from the wedding and of Shoshone Falls. The little flower girl was running out while they were dancing, so the other flower girl grabbed her and carried her back. I love the look on her face!

Drive-In

Sunday night, I went to my first drive-in ever! We went with a big group of friends and family and it was so much fun!! We put our futon mattress in the back of the truck and had a bunch of pillows and blankets, and lots of snack food! You can take your own food and drinks to the drive-in! It starts pretty late, because it doesn't get dark here until 10 p.m., so next time we might need to go on a Friday or Saturday when I don't have to work the next day. :) It only costs $5 and you get to see 2 movies!! We saw Over the Hedge and MI:III. So I didn't get to bed until 2:30 a.m. and had to get up at 6:30. Well worth it though! I don't know if I'll ever go to a regular ($9 for one movie!!) theater again. :) There are only 51 drive-in theaters still open in the U.S. and 11 of them are in Idaho! Yay for us!
