Birthday Guests
So, I turned 28 on April 19... I know, OLD! :) I don't feel old, so that is good. I remember thinking that 28 was incredibly old, but now I don't quite feel the same way!
27 was one of my favorite years (so far), so I hope 28 is even better! So far, it has been great! It started with a wonderful birthday, thanks in great part to some visitors we had... my college roommate, Karen & her family came to visit all the way from Baltimore! I was really excited to see them, since I hadn't seen her and Ben since 4 years ago when I left Virginia, and I had never met baby Tyler, and Robert hadn't met any of them. We had a great time, just visiting and hanging out. We did drive up to the mountains one day and were able to have a little picnic by the river, but we mostly just relaxed - NICE! One night, Ben & Robert even cooked us a gourmet dinner (really, Ben is a chef, so it was AMAZING!) of steak & chicken kabobs, this delicious grilled vegetable & goat cheese salad with french bread and warm potato salad. Karen and I were in charge of dessert, so... Ben & Jerry's! :)
We also had a BBQ for my birthday with friends and family at my parents' house, which was crazy (lots of kids!) and fun, and took a quick trip to Washington to visit Robert's parents (the rest of his family came up too) and surprise his Mom for her birthday (which is 2 days before mine)! She was definitely surprised, and it was great to spend some time with them.
